This limited edition timepiece has been designed in conjunction with Médecins Sans Frontières – Seiko will donate proceeds from the sale of this model to the international relief organisation. Médecins Sans Frontières was founded to provide medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or excluded from healthcare and comprises 45,000 health professionals in over 70 countries.

The watch has a modern style thanks to its sleek and slim profile – it features the signature red colour of Médecins Sans Frontières, whilst its scratch-proof white ceramic bezel panel is built for style and durability. “In Support of Médecins Sans Frontières” on the caseback expresses the partnership and this watch is accompanied by both a bracelet as well as a white and red combination silicone strap, a first for Astron.

This model is limited to 800 pieces worldwide and is powered by the Seiko in-house 5X calibre with advanced functionality; every component in the new GPS module has been re-engineered to make it faster and more intuitive than ever. Just three seconds are needed to advance 14 hours from Tokyo to New York time, thanks to the system that moves hour, minute, and second hand independently. The functions allow easy adjustment to Daylight Saving Time and give the wearer the ability to switch the main dial instantly from home to local time and vice versa.
