SEIKO LADIES

SEIKO LADIES

COMPACT, BEAUTIFUL AND REFINED

All Seiko watches are designed to be worn by everyone - the difference being that those watches specifically within the Ladies' or Women’s collection are usually smaller in size.
Seiko Ladies' collection draws from six main ranges: King Seiko, Prospex, Presage, Astron, Seiko 5 Sports and Essentials. Movement types include automatic mechanical, quartz, solar and GPS solar.

KING SEIKO

In the 1960s, King Seiko timepieces led Seiko Watch Corporation’s developments in world-leading technical precision, along with Grand Seiko. ‘King Seiko’ originated when multiple Seiko factories created different watches to encourage innovation – one of the Japanese watch brand’s constant aims.

Presage CLASSIC SERIES

Introducing the Presage Classic Series – watches designed with inherent Japanese elegance. Under sapphire glass, the curved dial with curved hands and indices evoke vintage style and are specifically designed to maximise light reflections.

The seven-piece multi-row bracelet has been developed and inspired by 1970s retro-style metal watch bracelets. Not only are these designed for style and to reflect the light, each piece is short at only 6mm long, allowing for maximum movement and comfort.

PROSPEX

Prospex is a combination of the words 'Professional' and 'Specifications.' Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

PRESAGE COCKTAIL TIME

Traditionally in Japan ‘Nomunication hour’ – a hybrid of nomu (drink) and communication, is after 5pm – when it’s cocktail hour and time to talk things over.

The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time collection was inspired by this Japanese custom – with each timepiece named after drinks mixed by Hisashi Kishi, head bartender of Star Bar in Tokyo’s Ginza area.

Seiko 5 Sports

Seiko 5 Sports is known for over fifty years of reliability, durability, performance and value. ‘’5’’ represents the original five key features of every Seiko 5 still present today: Automatic movement, Day-date display, Water Resistance, Recessed crown and Durable case and bracelet.

ESSENTIALS

Elegant, versatile, and timeless. The Ladies Essentials collection offers refined designs that are easy to wear every day. From classic dress styles to contemporary looks, each piece reflects Seiko’s commitment to comfort, style and precision.

Does Seiko make solar-powered ladies' watches?

Yes. The Prospex Solar Diver collection includes smaller references called ladies' designs, powered by solar movements (Calibres V147 and V192), and the Astron ladies' collection uses GPS solar technology via the Calibre 3X. Of course, all Seiko watches are designed to be worn by everyone and are only designated as 'ladies' models because they are usually a smaller size. Seiko Solar-powered watches charge from natural and artificial light using a rechargeable battery, so there is no conventional battery to replace.

Does Seiko make quartz watches for women?

Yes. The Seiko Essentials collection offers a full range of quartz watches for everyone - those specifically signposted as being for women are usually smaller in size; from petite rectangular designs to classic round cases. The Prospex Marine Sports Ladies' collection also uses quartz movements, combining dress watch styling with 20 bar (200m) water resistance. Quartz watches are battery-powered and keep accurate time without needing to be wound or worn.

What is the Prospex Marine Sports ladies' collection?

The Prospex Marine Sports Ladies' collection combines dress watch styling with 200m water resistance in a compact stainless steel case. The watches' sizes reflect their specific designation as a women's collection - but all Seiko watches are designed to be worn by everyone. Current Prospex Marine Sports Ladies' references are powered by quartz movements with curved sapphire crystal, and Lumibrite on the hands and indices. Dial options include mother-of-pearl, silver, pink and navy, with selected references featuring diamond-set indices. The 20 bar rating makes them the most water-resistant quartz watches in the specifically named ladies' range.

What crystal do Seiko ladies' watches use?

The Seiko specific, smaller Ladies' designs feature several crystal types depending on the range. Sapphire crystal (flat, curved, box-shaped or dual-curved) is found across Presage, King Seiko, Astron, Prospex and most Essentials references. Hardlex, Seiko's proprietary hardened mineral glass (in standard, curved and box-shaped forms), is used in Seiko 5 Sports and some Essentials models. The crystal type is listed on each specific watch web page.

Do any Seiko ladies' watches have diamonds?

Yes. The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time Diamond Twist watches each feature eight diamonds set into the dial, and several Prospex Marine Sports references also include diamond-set indices. Beyond these, around 20 other ladies' references across the collection incorporate diamond or crystal detailing. Specific watch web pages indicate whether a watch includes diamonds.

Stainless steel bracelets are the most common option across watches which are smaller and therefore designated as within the ladies' range. Other options in all watch types which are designed to be worn by all include calfskin leather straps, nylon straps (primarily in Seiko 5 Sports Field), crocodile leather on selected Presage references, titanium bracelets in the Astron range, and silicone straps on Prospex Solar Diver models. Some King Seiko references feature an interchangeable bracelet and strap system that allows tool-free swapping.

Are Seiko ladies' watches the same as the men's?

Seiko watches which are designated as 'Ladies' or 'Womens' collection pieces are as a result of their smaller case size - however all Seiko watches are made to be worn by everyone.
Across Seiko 5 Sports, Presage, Prospex, King Seiko, Astron and Essentials, the majority of ladies' specific references are also in the men's range. The distinction is primarily how references are grouped and tagged on the website due to size rather than a difference in specification.
