Description
This Astron solar-powered timepiece is themed ‘Solidity,’ symbolising Seiko’s innovative spirit which has been present since the brand’s beginnings in 1881. Within a series taking inspiration from the solar system, this piece is inspired specifically by the Sun.
In a new futuristic design, this solar watch features a two-piece aluminium and super-hard coated titanium bezel with gold-coloured accents symbolic of the sun’s rays. Crafted in a super-hard titanium case, this watch features a distinctive grey pressed pattern dial under a sapphire crystal glass – a process particularly difficult to achieve on a solar cell, without reducing its charge efficiency.
The watch is powered by an in-house built 3X62 Solar-powered movement with GPS functionality, so it has exceptional accuracy being updated remotely by GPS satellite when the wearer moves between time zones. It can be charged by any light source – either natural sunlight or artificial light – for convenience.
