The dial of this Seiko Presage Classic Series watch is inspired by the Japanese art of silk dyeing. Its colour, ‘Shironeri,’ is the pure white shade of whitened silk before dyeing – a nod to the traditional technique of removing the yellow tint from raw silk to reveal a luminous, refined white. The unique beauty of the silk weave is captured through a careful rendering of its texture on the dial, harmoniously paired with delicate colour tones. A series of concentric grooves with varying widths create a unique radial shimmer that shifts with the light, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of ‘beauty in utility;’ making useful also beautiful.

The curved hands and indices are designed to reflect light in an impressive way, matching the dial’s surface so that the entire dial works as one cohesive canvas. The case has a smooth curve that feels familiar and instinctively touchable. The delicate multi-row bracelet is inspired by those from the 1970s – its short 6mm pitch length reflects light elegantly while ensuring a comfortable fit on the wrist. The case and bracelet feature a super-hard coating, and the anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass ensures clarity in any light.

Water resistant to 100m, the watch is powered by the in-house 6R51 automatic calibre, accurate to +25/-15 seconds per day with a 45-hour power reserve.
