Description

This watch features our Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 special movement that passed the Grand Seiko Special Standard test, with higher precision criteria compared to most 9S Mechanical movements. As a symbol of the movement accuracy (when static) : +4 to -2 seconds per day’, the word ‘SPECIAL’ is inscribed on the dial, and the Grand Seiko lion emblem in 18K yellow gold is featured on the oscillating weight viewed through the see-through case back.

The radial spiral pattern on the dial that consists of 80 curved lines was adopted for the 20th anniversary limited edition models of the 9S Mechanical calibre. It represents the Grand Seiko spirit connecting the path of history to the future. The ‘G’ and ‘S’ on the dial symbolise Grand Seiko and the ‘S’ is a symbol of Daini Seikosha (currently Seiko Instruments Inc.), which produced the first 10-beat watch, the ’45GS’.

The watch case features clean edges and distortion-free mirror surfaces that only Grand Seiko’s Zaratsu polishing can deliver. Smooth curves are added to the beautiful three-dimensional structure characteristic of Grand Seiko style for a graceful profile. The elegant shimmer of 18K yellow gold case and the dark brown crocodile leather strap embrace the refined dial design, marking the passage of high quality, sophisticated time.
